The benefits of dancing are infinite

To communicate the value of dance I conduct, advocate for and disseminate dance research. Through talks and lectures, publications, photography and film I seek to aid public understanding of the significance of dance in our culture, and the difference that it makes to people’s lives.

I promote innovation in dance, and bring attention to excellence in dance practice. I do this by applying a rigorous and person centred approach to designing, implementing, leading and evaluating dance projects.

Through critically interrogating dance practice, I understand and share with others what it is in, or about, dance that supports individual and collective wellbeing.

It makes me feel the absolute joy of being alive!

Emily’s inspiration and conception of this project, her professionalism and dedication, her commitment to excellence and research and her heartfelt intention to support and nourish us is at the heart of what makes Move Dance Feel so special.

To overcome barriers to participation, I develop projects in new and unexplored settings so to increase access to dance. I curate programmes for dance engagement and deliver projects in a variety of locations - in galleries, hospitals, community centres, wellness spaces, institutes of higher education, and at festivals.

I am Founder-Director of Move Dance Feel, a project for women living with and beyond cancer, and leader of an international #danceincancercare movement. I also founded Women Who Dance, and I serve as a Dance for Health committee member for the International Association for Dance Medicine and Science.

Women Who Dance is a project I’ve been waiting for for years. Emily is unique in what she does, she uses dance as a tool to create community in a time when it is sorely needed. Dance to feel the pure joy of life.
